Charm is RyonaRPG's four-part appearance and personality system. It affects event branches, NPC reactions, some equipment behavior and part of the physical-damage calculation.

The four ratings are tracked separately for each playable character. Changing character does not replace one character's developed profile with another's.

Quick start

  1. Buy a Body Checker for 300 G from the item shop in RAYON Village.
  2. Either use the Body Checker directly, or use the Maiden's Secret Diary and select Measurements / Other from its data pages.

The Body Checker shows the current values as numbers. Mirrors found in towns and other safe areas give a broad written assessment instead.

The system continues to work before you own a Body Checker. The item only unlocks the exact numerical display.

The four ratings

Rating Positive direction Negative direction Main uses
Charm Greater perceived attractiveness Lower perceived attractiveness NPC and event requirements, rewards and dialogue branches
Loli Level A younger or more childlike presentation Old Hag Level, a more mature presentation Appearance-based dialogue and event branches
Bitch Level A more sexually brazen presentation Pure Level, a purer or more modest presentation Adult-event reactions, equipment affinity and some event branches
Sadist Level Sadistic tendency Masochist Level, masochistic tendency Physical damage modifiers, the Sadist and Masochist abilities, equipment affinity and event branches

The Body Checker changes the displayed label for a personality rating when its value is negative. The number shown is the distance from zero in that direction.

Current and base values

Each rating has two forms:

  • The base value is the character's persistent underlying rating.
  • The current value is the base value after character, form, equipment, status and event modifiers are applied.

The Body Checker and mirrors report current values. They do not reveal the base values directly.

Base values are normally limited to -100 through 100. Current values can go beyond that range because equipment and other temporary modifiers are added afterwards. This is why an unusually strong current reading is not necessarily a permanent change.

Long-term change

When a current value differs from its base value, the game periodically rolls for the base value to move one point toward the current value. The check runs once every 10 seconds while a difference remains. The basic chance is based on the absolute difference between the two values against a random roll from 0 to 199. A large difference therefore changes faster than a small one, but the result is not guaranteed on every check.

This gives equipment two possible effects:

  • an immediate change to the current reading while it is equipped;
  • gradual movement of the persistent base value toward that modified reading.

Removing an item immediately removes its direct modifier, but any base points already gained or lost remain. Some cursed equipment and transformations instead impose a minimum, maximum or fixed-looking current result while active. The hidden base value can still continue changing underneath that restriction.

Each rating then modifies that basic process:

  • Charm becomes progressively harder to raise permanently after its base reaches 40, 60 and 80. Very low base Charm receives a small recovery bias.
  • Loli Level is biased by the character's height. Short characters tend toward Loli more readily, while tall characters tend toward the mature side.
  • Bitch Level is biased by Sensitivity. Higher Sensitivity makes lasting movement toward Bitch easier.
  • Sadist Level moves directly toward its current signed value.

Mystic Perfume Oil is a special case. It adds 90 current Charm, but base Charm does not drift while the oil is equipped. The three personality ratings can still change normally.

How the ratings change

Character and form

Every playable character starts with a character-specific profile. The game saves and restores the four base values with that character's other data when characters are changed. A newly initialized character receives their own starting values; a returning character keeps the values developed earlier in the save.

Forms and transformations can add further rules. For example, mechanical reincarnation suppresses all four current readings, while some animal, hypnosis and body-state systems impose minimum or maximum personality values. These are active-state corrections, not universal permanent changes.

Equipment

Any equipment slot can affect the system, although most items have no Charm-related modifier. Common patterns include:

Equipment style Usual tendency
Attractive accessories, cosmetics and well-matched clothing Raise Charm
Cute or youthful clothing, such as the Lolita Dress Raise Loli
Mature-looking clothing and cosmetics Lower Loli toward the mature side
Revealing, erotic or corruptive equipment Raise Bitch
Modest, holy or heavily covering equipment Lower Bitch toward Pure
Dominant equipment, such as Dominatrix Bondage Wear or Mistress Papillon Raise Sadist
Slave restraints, submissive equipment and many curses Lower Sadist toward Masochist

These are guidelines, not formulas. Individual items have their own values and conditions. Some equipment also grants more Charm when it matches the character's existing personality, while an ill-matched outfit can give a smaller bonus or a penalty. See Equipment and Item IDs for specific items.

Items and events

Two inexpensive consumables provide predictable direct changes:

  • Skin Cream costs 300 G and raises base Charm by 1 while it is below 80.
  • Tattoo Sticker costs 300 G and raises base Bitch Level by 1. Its use event does not impose a local cap.

Dialogue choices, training, transformations, adult events and endings can also raise, lower or force values. These changes are event-specific; there is no single rule that every adult event raises the same rating.

Debug Mode can directly adjust Charm, Loli, Bitch and Sadist values for testing.

Gameplay effects

Event requirements

Locations check these values individually. Charm is often used for attractiveness or service requirements, while the personality axes select reactions and alternate branches.

Example Current-value requirement or use
Slave prostitution job in Capital Abaroso 20 Charm
Abaroso revenge request 40 Charm
High-class prostitution route at Melbel Public Academy Progressive checks at 35, 45, 60 and 80 Charm
One ending in Hidden, the Lurking Town 200 Charm, requiring temporary current-value bonuses beyond the base cap
Prostitution satisfaction calculations Starts from current Charm, then applies personality, physical and client-preference modifiers

An event may recalculate current values immediately before its check, so changing equipment can affect the result without waiting for the long-term base value to move.

Sadist and Masochist combat effects

Current Sadist directly affects physical combat:

  • Positive Sadist raises outgoing physical damage but also raises physical damage taken.
  • Negative Sadist, displayed as Masochist, lowers outgoing physical damage but also lowers physical damage taken.
  • The ordinary modifier is current Sadist divided by 6, with fractions dropped. Outgoing damage clamps this contribution between -20% and +15% before other ability and equipment bonuses. Incoming physical damage uses the divided value without that extra clamp.

The persistent base value also controls two abilities:

  • At 60 or more base Sadist, the character normally learns Sadist.
  • At -60 or less base Sadist, the character normally learns Masochist.
  • Sadist is forgotten after the base value crosses to -1 or lower.
  • Masochist is forgotten after the base value crosses to 1 or higher.

This gap is intentional. Once learned, an ability remains while the rating moves back through the neutral range. The abilities have additional effects during the ??? status; see Abilities and Status.

Dance Robe [Ame-no-Uzume]

The Dance Robe [Ame-no-Uzume] has the clearest equipment-based Charm progression. Its bonuses use current Charm while the robe is equipped.

Current Charm Effect
0 or lower Shame resistance penalty
1 or higher Shame resistance bonus
20 or higher Resistance to Knockdown, Captured and ???
40 or higher Aquatic aptitude +1
60 or higher Trap evasion +25%
80 or higher Ignores the EX movement-speed penalty
100 or higher Doubles item drops

Reading unexpected results

  • A value changed as soon as equipment was changed: this is the current-value modifier.
  • The value did not return completely after removing equipment: the base value moved while the item was worn.
  • A value is higher than 100: base values are bounded, but current modifiers can exceed the base range.
  • A mirror and the Body Checker seem different: mirrors use broad descriptions, while the Body Checker shows the exact current number.
  • A mechanical character shows no meaningful ratings: the live calculation deliberately sets all four current values to zero for mechanical reincarnation.
  • Values seem different after changing character: each character has a separately stored profile. Returning to the previous character restores that character's base values.
