Player Housing
Where the player lives, trains his slaves, prepares his meals and sleeps at night.
When starting a new game your house is located in the slums, and one of your first actions should be to head to the Real Estate office to rent a better house.
Moving to a new quarter requires a decade's worth of rent in advance and a one time agency commission fee. To gain housing permission for a quarter, you must sell a slave to an NPC within the desired faction to raise your reputation with them. Your choice of housing will affect the Slaver's mood, based on his brand reputation. If his reputation is low, he'll tolerate cheaper living conditions, but as he gains reputation he'll demand a lifestyle more befitting his stature.
Rent prices are halved on custom/easy, and quadrupled on extreme difficulty.
The purchasing, rental and commission prices on normal difficulty are as follows:
Quarter | Purchase Price | Rent (per 10d) |
Agency Commission (One time fee) |
Available Living Standard |
---|---|---|---|---|
Border of the Fogs* | Free | N/A | N/A | Impoverished / Poor |
Quarter of the Outcasts | 4650$ | 62$ | 6$ | Poor / Basic |
Serpentine Quarter | 5625$ | 75$ | 7$ | Basic / Comfortable |
Quarter of the Bull | 7500$ | 100$ | 10$ | Comfortable / Respectable |
Necropolis | 10000$ | 125$ | 12$ | Respectable / Luxurious |
White Town | 15000$ | 200$ | 20$ | Luxurious / Extravagant |
* The house in the slums does not have a kitchen or bathroom, the player should move into another property as soon as possible.
If the player cancels their contract on a purchased house he will receive 1/3 of the purchasing price back. Regardless, if you move back into the slum and sleep for a day there you will receive a note from Moneylender stating that you owe him money, this is an obvious shakedown that one you should relent to if they don't want to wind up dead.
Extended Rental
There are additional rooms for your house you can rent from the real estate office:
- Dungeon - Gives you access to torture devices and equipment, the ability to use a hot iron to brand your slave and enables you to train your slave in both spider and sea tentacle mating;
- Boudoir - Enables the option to let your slave sleep in her own room. This will increase her mood, Nature and cause spoiling (if her Devotion <3);
- Laboratory - Allows you to personally train and hire a tutor to teach your slaves the alchemy skill, also allows you to brew potions.
- Fiend pit - Lets you capture and milk a fiend for cheap slave food as well as alchemical mucus.
- Barn - You will be able to sell eggs, milk and meat as a side business.
