On 14 July 2023, Illusion announced its closure. However, a new company named Illgames was formed on 4 August 2023 and immediately picked up where Illusion left off with the release of HoneyCome. Although both companies have explicitly denied having any connection to each other, HoneyCome reuses a substantial amount of assets and code from previous Illusion games like Honey Select 2 and Koikatu. Illgames operates from a Twitter account that was previously owned by Illusion as well.
