RPG Tsukūru or officially RPG Maker and unofficially RPG TKool, is a series of game engines released by Enterbrain Inc., which are catered towards home users and small studios. Some RPG Maker-based games are not RPGs, but those are an exception as they use complex scripting or even game engine modifications to workaround RPG Maker's inherent limitations.
Although RPG Maker itself is not a H game, it has been used to make a number of H games ranging from short single person developments to large scale ventures which have taken a small team several years to complete, and games made using this engine frequently show up in game shopping sites.
RPG Maker games require a full copy of RPG Maker that the game was developed in, which can be bought from http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/. Alternatively, if the game does not provide the necessary run time package (RTP) required to run the game, the free RTP can be downloaded here.
Other similar game engines exist to either replicate RPG Maker's functions or to play RPG Maker-based games on platforms that do not support it, such as: Wolf RPG Editor, RPG Paper Maker, Open RPG Maker, MKXP, EasyRPG, and 001 Game Creator. Note that some of these alternatives are RPG Maker interpreters which do not provide any sort of game development features, they are just interpreters/players that run RPG Maker games on unsupported platforms.
