'''Emotion Creators''' (<span lang="ja">エモーション・クリエイターズ</span> in Japanese) is a tool by [[Illusion]] that allows users to create, dress, pose characters, and create or share ADV-style visual novels with or without H scenes. It is a standalone tool that does not require [[Koikatu|Koikatsu]] to be installed as it extensively reuses Koikatsu's assets, but drops the storyline and reduced the amount of personalities to 9. It also has its own character creator, but it produces character cards that are not compatible with Koikatsu due to change in the character data format that allows the eye highlights' horizontal position to be modified. This was originally not available in Koikatsu, even with the Emotion Creators pre-order bonus updates installed. 

Emotion Creators works just like Koikatsu's [[Koikatu/Chara_Studio|CharaStudio]] and can be seen as a slight refinement, although it does not have much to offer over CharaStudio apart from its ability to create ADV visual novel scenes without having to rely on a separate program. Despite its similarities with CharaStudio, it is not compatible with CharaStudio's save format. Scenes and poses from Emotion Creators can't be loaded into CharaStudio as Emotion Creators stores pose data in .png files, whereas CharaStudio stores them in .dat files. Emotion Creators' scenes and map scene .png files are incompatible as well due to the utilization of a different save format, which prevents them from being loaded into CharaStudio. This also applies vice versa as Emotion Creators lacks a converter to convert CharaStudio scenes into its own scene format (applies to pose data as well).

Scenes in Emotion Creators are limited to 21 maps, 8 characters, and 50 ADV + H nodes (equivalent to manga/doujin pages), which consists of 1-50 ADV cuts or 1-8 H cuts (equivalent to manga/doujin panels) respectively. Each node can only use a single map out of the 21-map pool (a different map means a new node has to be created), which means cuts in that given node are restricted to one map and can't be changed in a different cut. Only map items (up to 10), camera position, camera effects, map lighting, screen effects (chat dialogue & speech effects), and music can be changed for each cut. All characters can't be removed in the scene editor but can be relocated outside of the map or hidden as a workaround.

There are [https://github.com/ManlyMarco/EC-HF_Patch/blob/master/Plugin%20Readme.md mods] that can remove the 50 ADV + H nodes and 8 characters restriction, but it significantly puts more stress on the CPU and is not recommended for low-end PCs.
