:"Image:" is legacy. MediaWiki supports usually multiple types of media (hence the name) and File: is the namespace used now. Image: is mapped to File for compatibility reasons. See here: Images that are stored on a MediaWiki server are usually rendered by using the <code>File:</code> namespace prefix (but the legacy <code>Image:</code> namespace prefix is still supported as a synonym) as the target of a MediaWiki link. --<span style="font:bold 12px Times New Roman;">hmoeller</span> [ Talk - Contribs ] 21:46, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

"Image:" is legacy. MediaWiki supports usually multiple types of media (hence the name) and File: is the namespace used now. Image: is mapped to File for compatibility reasons. See here: Images that are stored on a MediaWiki server are usually rendered by using the File: namespace prefix (but the legacy Image: namespace prefix is still supported as a synonym) as the target of a MediaWiki link. --hmoeller [ Talk - Contribs ] 21:46, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
