Merge suggestion

Since you guys only have 3 games have you thought of merging with egamia or another wiki? illusions only have around 24 games so you won't have that much pages. --67.159.44.138 09:25, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I am not sure if our article structure would fit with those of eGamia. Also, 24 games, if each has 10~20 articles (depending on the nature of the game, DesBlood 4 probably would have 70 or so articles if we ever retrospectively go into that), that's like 400 articles already. If we are to move out of scratchpad, then I would actually rather have our own independent wiki, where ever single mod of the game can get their own articles, modders can use their userspace to index all of their mods, and we can expand the scope into having in-depth guides on modding 3D meshes or 2D textures. It's mostly the lack of contributors 3 months after game release and not having much time myself keeps me from requesting an independent wiki. -Afker 10:42, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
I still think you can merge just add everything under the walkthrough section and some more pages can be linked there for example how they have "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Clothing". I am sure you can make a side template bar for support and you will have more people writing and correcting stuff which means less work :).--67.159.44.138 22:50, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't do much work as it is d-: And I don't think eGamia's current format is much conducive for finding content, especially for obscure games that's sold to a limited market. Articles like Afkhound LST injection format would also not really find a place to fit in on a general wiki, or characters who appear in multiple games of different series' (I don't want to have multiple articles on them, and if we do move out of Scratchpad, I want an article for each of them). Imagine the feasibility of asking the Final Fantasy Wiki to merge into eGamia (each game in the series is independent, but there are recurring stuff across the entire franchise), plus an entire type of articles about modding/modders. Dividing stuff into "Credits, Soundtrack, Codes, Walkthrough" works for a overview-purpose encyclopedia, but lumping every knowledge about gameplay under "walkthrough" prevents people from going indepth into the very specifics, and also discourages people from adding detailed information about the game that is NOT in those four categories. There are probably more stuff about the situation that I'm not happy about but can't quite identify yet. I think until I am satisfied with how the three mini-wikis I founded on GameInfo are taken care of in the transition to eGamia, there is going to be a big psychological barrier in my mind against merging the Illusion mini-wiki over. -Afker 00:30, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
From another perspective, it makes sense that Final Fantasy has a wiki for the entire franchise, due to the overlapping subjects between games. It makes sense that FFXI, the MMORPG, also gets its own wiki, due to scope of the world and the nature of MMORPGs. On the other hand, trying to argue that FF should merge into eGamia is like trying to argue eGamia should merge into Wikipedia. While the Illusion games aren't on a scope as grand as the FF franchise, the elements shared between the games and the particular focus is something I would find currently at odds with the greater general nature of eGamia. I wouldn't rule out waiting to see how eGamia can enlarge their square hole to make our triangular peg fit in, but we'll have to wait and see. -Afker 00:55, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Well the only reason I suggested it was I saw your Izumo stuff there and other articles and it looked fine to me! They seem to not mind the stuff! What I meant before was that the walkthrough section has a brief description or you can add another page for modding! Thats why I think it is a good idea to merge. Also I think most of the FF wiki stuff was on Wikipedia but the people deleted it because of Gamecruft --67.159.44.138 05:34, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
From my perspective, instead of "they seem not to mind the stuff", it's more like "they haven't even thought about whether they mind the stuff or not". I'm talking about the whole idea of having mini-wikis that has more implicit freedom than having "encyclopedic articles". I'm talking about having content easily browsable and navigatable, instead of having to know where it is ahead of time (and knowing it exists at all in the first place) unless you are a featured article on the main page. I'm talking about making an actual effort at integration of different ways of presentation, instead of "we'll just let them do their own thing in their own corner". What I feel may not reflect their actual attitude, but I haven't had the time to proactively open a dialog with them beyond my first attempt, so I have to go by my feelings in the mean time. -Afker 07:13, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Proposals

Hi, I'm proposing the removal of the gameplay guide and incorporating the contents into the general gameplay and ecchi guide. I left a message talking about this in the discussion section of the article.

Also, the mods resource usage page has still not been created yet, and it seems it has been like that since this ag3 wiki been created. I also left a message about this in the discussion section of the template of the ag3 menu.

Let me know how everybody feels about this.

Sounds ok with me, it's been a while since I looked over all the pages but I do remember there was some stuff that seemed redundantly duped across two pages. If you wanna clean that up, great, go ahead. Kinda busy right now and - horrors - I haven't reinstalled the game on my new laptop. Gonna rectify that when I get home from work :P

So it looks like either nobody cares or that nobody comes here (of course except for one). So in a few weeks from now, I will be doing some major changes.

I was thinking we might as well throw in the steps on how to actually create a girl, her clothes, then get her loaded into a new world. Just thought of that a couple minutes ago when I was browsing the clothing editor page. I'd do that, but I need to learn how to upload images and put them in. If you don't mind a little delay I can take care of this.
Also, log in why don't you, it's akward calling you mr 66.75.5.79 lol.
