Known in-game as ""コロセウム"" (AKA """Colosseum"""). You can visit it as a normal location if you talk to the blonde woman in the red dress in the church of RAYON (unless you're a slave). This place has its own mechanism inside the game and greatly differs from the other "dungeons" in the game of a gladiator fight between the heroines and the monsters with clearly defined rules. It's one of the locations which allows to quickly enter Slave Mode without too much hassle. People who wanna use the Colosseum for that purpose can read a few recommendations at the end of the page as entering into Slave Mode here has two additional effects on the Colosseum itself.

Read this first

The Colosseum can be buggy at times though mostly it'll work fine. Try to save before entering a battle and after you finish one in separate files just in case so that getting stuck because of a bug doesn't ruin your advances. Also, note that to "beat" it you'll need to be at a relatively high level as you'll have to fight some Boss monsters from the dungeons (minus the previous dungeon crawling) and that you can't use any items (including the debug tool) inside the arena. This is also important because some penalty games make you immortal until you've defeated all monsters (this may be due to a bug sometimes and others it's because that is supposed to be part of the penalty) so you won't be able to exit the fight by losing on purpose and might see that the fight drags on for so long you might as well restart the game so don't enter those either unless you have a high level. There also seems to be a limitation of how many ranks you can rise. From what's been tested, once you reach rank 40 in the arena you won't get any new matches (it seems you can still do practice fights, though).

In the new core0026 version (not confirmed in 勝手統合版20090804), once you win the 40th match, you will not be able to except new duel. Obviously, the Colosseum is still under construction. [How is this different from before? I alreasy stated when making this guide you can only reach rank 40]

What is this and how does it work?

The Colosseum works in a similar way to Colosseum modes in other games (for example, in .hack//G.U.). When you first enter it you'll find yourself in a lobby with Monsters and humans. This area has no combat so the monsters won't attack. This lobby is a safe zone where you can think carefully what you wanna do before you enter a fight (or decide to accept one at all. You'll find a counter on each side to register yourself and that the middle way is blocked for you to pass by two guards unless you accept to enter a fight (in which case they'll let you pass. If you go down you go back to the overworld map and the access to the right and to the left are closed (they are for people to watch the fights but apparently you are only allowed to enter as a fighter). If you are in Cheat mode you'll also see a bucket but don't touch it unless you know what you're doing as it can bug the game (supposedly it allows you to predefine your next enemies. The registration counter on the right is supposedly the registration for monsters so you'll have to talk to the adult bunnygirl on the left counter (please note that even if your character got turned into a monster you'll be considered "human" in the coliseum). She'll also tell you which your next opponents will be and under which conditions you'll fight (see below). The little bunnygirl allows you to do pratice battles. If you don't change conditions it'll be against your next opponent(s) but you can also try different opponents and handicap conditions. These practice fights normally have no impact on your reputation on the arena but can inflict permanent status effects on you so be warned (unless that is your purpose).

Mechanism

(under contruction)

The general mechanism works like this:

  • You bet your money on your victory. If you win, you'll get back your money. If you lose, you pay to the house. If you don't have enough money, you'll enter Slave Mode (see below)
  • You talk to the Bunnygirl to get an opponent you'll fight under certain conditions (which you might reject by playing a penalty match game) and enter the arena
  • You fight the enemies
  • You Defeat them and win the money you bet + some items while climbing up a rank or are Defeated (you lose your bet and have to pay with the said consequences if you have no money). Defeat also leads to a loss of Reputation.
  • Rinse and Repeat

Registration

When you first talk to the bunny girl you'll first be asked if you wanna register as a fighter. Choose the first option on the first question and again the first option on the second question (unless you want an explanation of the Colosseum in Japanese which kinda defeats the purpose). You'll then be asked to give a nickname which will determine which kind of monsters you'll get (3rd option, for example, will be mostly human opponents at the beginning). Decide for yourself which path you prefer.

Reputation

Reputation while not extremely important does influence which enemies you'll get. How exactly this is determined isn't completely clear (even to the developers as the creator of the map left the project some time ago). It is still interesting to see that climbing up the ladder of success will earn you nicknames like "Fearless Princess Knight" while being defeated often will make it go in the opposite direction like "Meatbag". This also includes running off after accepting a duel but deciding to leave the lobby to the overworld instead of going to the arena, as this will earn you the nickname "Chicken" (along with whatever other nickname you have). Ending up in Slave mode or losing penalty games will also modify this further.

Accepting a Duel

(under construction)

First of all: Once you're in the arena you can't use the menu (which means not using items nor switching equipment) and depending on which handicap conditions you accept you might not be able to use magic. This is especially important if you are using magic user characters so be careful to use the correct equipment (unless the handicap switches all your equipment in the first place).

To accept a duel you'll need to talk to the adult bunny girl. After telling you your reputation and overall rank she'll give you information to the fight itself:

  • Victory conditions. Normally: Defeat all enemies (with or without handicap) but less frequently it might be just defeating a set amount of them or surviving for a certain amount of time
  • Enemies and playing Field: Who you'll fight (and the amount of enemies they are) and in which location. Difficulty increases with each victory
  • Reward and bet: What object/item you'll win and how much you bet (you'll receive the money if you win, you'll have to pay it if you lose)
  • Handicap conditions: "なし" = None ; If it says some number it probably means you have to defeat the enemies under a set amount of time (you'll have a timer so you know how much time you've got left) ; If it says anything else you'll be restricted to wear a certain sexy armour, wear magic-limiting collars, use shackles instead of your regular weapons or everything mentioned before. Some of that equipment will be cursed so you'll have to go to the church in Rayon after that and talk to the nun to remove it (unless you're a slave in which case she'll put even worse cursed equipment on you which will make you a full slave).

The conditions will be even worse in penalty games.

Once she's told you all of this you'll get 4 options:

  • Accept and head for the arena (you go to the arena manually by heading up the stairs guarded by the soldiers but you can chicken out of it if you want)
  • Mechanism of the Colosseum (for those who forgot)
  • Penalty game (to change enemy)
  • Cancel

If you accept you just go to the arena and fight the enemies with the explained consequences of defeat or victory. If you wanna change the enemies, you can also enter a penalty game as explained below.

Penalty Games

Warning: These are seriously bugged if you expect to lose. Make sure you're on a pretty high level so you can win despite the handicap imposed on you as if not roughly 5 times out of 7 you'll end up in a loop where you can't lose due to being invincible (be it part of the penalty be it part of a bug) but you're too weak to win and have to restart the game. Still you shouldn't disregard them because especially on harder levels they allow you to change otherwise unbeatable battles for your character (with the exception of Boss Battles which you can never replace with a Penalty game, though you can still apply for it if you want to make the fight even harder with more handicap)

If you choose the third option when deciding if accepting a duel or not you'll get an explanation that a penalty game to get a new enemy will force you to first do a much in pretty unreasonable conditions (especially regarding handicap). You can decide to not do it then (1st option) or that you don't care and wanna do it anyway (2nd option). You'll then get to choose if you want a "Pain" or a "Pleasure" Punishment. Both will heavily restrict your offensive and defensive power with enphasis on the first one on having no attack or defense to defeat enemies which normally would be in your same league but now deal more damage to you (and which you almost can't harm) and Pleasure putting an emphasis on getting your Pleasure meter up and putting you up against enemies which will rapidly increase it (Most of the Slimes or water monsters) as your defeat conditions will be to orgasm a certain amount of times before being defeated (most of the time, sometimes it'll be a regular defeat made harder because you'll be in ??? status). Both have the mentioned problem that Failure might not be an option, getting you stuck in a loop unless you win. The only exception to this is the rooftop level where you can quickly lose by throwing yourself down.

Bugs

The colloseum is loaded with bugs. Sometimes, especially if you kill all enemies in a fight you're supposed to "endure for 1min" or "No orgasm for 1min", the game wont return your character to normal. This might include :

  • Shackles or handcuff equipped. Go see the nun in Rayon, unless you're a slave.
  • Invulnerability.
  • Death on orgasm (which can be quite annoying.

To stop the last two, win or lose a fight with similar time limit. Should solve this in most cases.

Slave Mode

As said above, a pretty easy mode to make your girl become a (partial) slave is to lose here and have no money to pay back the bet. In that case, the Colosseum will put a collar on you along with a official State tag that you belong to them. Theorically you can buy your freedom free by paying the debt but even if you do it they'll say they have lost the key to your collar. If you come back on a new day you will be given documents to sign. You are told it is routine paper work but realy its an agreement to be a slave permanently. You are given 3 option Sign, Don't Sign, Read carefully. If you choose the third option you will notice what it says and complain. The right paper work will be brought and you will be free. The Colisseum is the second-quickest method to become a slave (the first one being selecting a character to be a slave from the beginning... which however won't allow you to access the Coliseum). There are, however, some interesting events inside the Colisseum if you become a slave like this which don't happen if you just go there already being a slave.

  • Lost Key: As explained before, if you pay back the debt the bunny girl will try to open you collar only to see the lock and the key she has don't match and tell you to come back. When you come back you will be give paper work to sign. This is an agreement to be a slave forever. If you choose to read carefully (3rd choice) you will be given the correct paper work and be freed.
  • Fighting duels as slave underdog: All the duels you accept now, while still allowing you to bet money, will be in ludicrous conditions (Basically, normal matches, but wearing swimsuit as armor, and wearing either Satan's Collar (Your character is always in ??? status, reduce stats), or shackles(HUGE drop in ATK stat), or both.). It is highly unprobable that you can win any of these fights unless you have a ridiculously high level (and even then they tend to be hard). Normally this will only serve to increase your debt but it might be interesting for people to do some of these fights and see how the nerfed character works now.

Recommendations to end up quickly like this

Normally to do some battles until you reach a battle you can easily lose on purpose (normally the first boss will do the trick but the second boss is probably the most effective even on higher level characters). Then, strip your character of all the equipment you can and use all the money you have on items. Why? Because you'll have to lose less battles and you can get some bargain items to sell them later and buy Slave-only equipment in Rayon once you're a slave (which also applies to any other way of ending up like a slave). Then go and lose the Boss Battle. Afer that, you'll get a message which will tell you that "You've lost x amount of Gil. But you're out of money!" and how much debt you have with the house and are forced to assume a very special kind of IOU. You'll be forced to become a publicly known sex slave until you pay it off by being forced to wear a "Lewd Oppression collar".
