Ending the day with positive Guilt results in spoiling. Make sure to math the level of Guilt to the level of punishment. A punishment that exceeds the sin or a punishment for no reason at all increases Despair, while a punishment less severe than appropriate increases Spoiling. An appropriate level of punishment reduces Pride and increases Taming.

Punishment can also be unsuccessful if the slave doesn't fear it enough. In that case, her Fear, Habit, and Taming decrease, while her Nature increases.

If the slave's Empathy is greater than the punishment's Sensitivity Threshold, her Empathy will decrease.

Psychological Pressure

Effectiveness depends on Aura and Dominance.

Punishment Punishment Level Sensitivity Threshold
Strictly Chastise 1 none
Roughly Scold 2 6
Threaten with tortures 3 5 (6)
Threaten with sale 4 4 (6)
Threaten with death 5 3 (5)

Repeating the same threat makes it less effective. Parenthetical sensitivity threshold is for repeated threat.

Battering

Effectiveness depends mostly on Strength. Dominance and Fighter skill help too.

Punishment Punishment Level Sensitivity Threshold
Spank 1 4
Slap 2 3
Tear the ear 3 2
Hit in the stomach 4 1
Beat brutally 5 0

Flagellation

Effectiveness depends on Flagellation skill.

Flog with cane 3 2
Flog with lash 4 1
Flog with whip 5 0
