About Illusion
Illusion (イリュージョン, Iryūjon) was a company from Yokohama, Japan famous for developing eroge with 3D graphics. Originally, its games were not allowed to be sold or used outside Japan, and official support was only given in Japanese and for use in Japan. However, with the release of Honey Select Unlimited in coordination with the online english erotic game storefront FAKKU, Illusion's policy has since changed. Prior to this change in policy, they were often translated and released in English and other languages by fans.
The company is famous for the controversial 2006 video game RapeLay, considered one of the most controversial in the history of gaming, which was seized, banned or heavily censored in many countries.
On 2023/07/14 the company announced its closure. Shortly after a new company appeared, called IllGames that immediately picked up where Illusion left with a release of HoneyCome. Although both companies have explicitly denied having any connection to each other, HoneyCome reuses a substantial amount of assets and code from previous Illusion games like Honey Select 2 and Koikatu, and operates from a twitter account that was previously owned by Illusion.
